Journalist, author, and storyteller

Over three decades, he has been responsible for interviews with American and Greek-American politicians and has interviewed politicians from all parties who visited New York between 1990 and 1995.

During his five years in New York, he authored major research articles on AIDS, on the missing persons of the Cyprus tragedy, on the future of Greek restaurants (diners), and on the Modern Greek Studies Association of North America.

He was also involved in cultural reporting and wrote multi-page inserts on the exhibition of Greek antiquities at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and on the largest international retrospective of Greek cinema, organized by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

For five years he was responsible for expatriate news and served as editor of the daily column “Eilikrina Ymeteros” (Sincerely Yours). He also wrote about philhellenism during the Greek Revolution for the 1994 annual album of the Federation of Greek Organizations of Greater New York.

He has served as an advisor on Greek issues to U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney. He was editor of the Greek-American magazine Rizes until October 1995, and he has been a contributor to the German magazine To Gramma and to the Eleftherotypia supplement “Life Is Here”.

His research on AIDS was distributed for a period to Greek-speaking patients at the AIDS Medical Center in Queens, New York. Under the leadership of the late Dr Mary Marangos, lectures on AIDS were organized under the auspices of organizations subsidized by the State of New York.

He was a member of the Public Relations Committee of the Federation of Greek Associations that organized the major 1993 rally for Macedonia in Washington D.C. He has received honorary distinctions from the U.S. Congress, the Union of Cypriot Students in America, the Coordinating Committee of Greek Student Associations, and from veteran Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney with a Special Congressional Recognition.

He is the author of the book A Few Oranges for Sissy, which is being published in Greek and English.

He holds a degree in Political Science from the Law School of the University of Athens. He attended semester-long courses in American Politics and English Literature at Northeastern University of Illinois, as well as Art History at the Fashion Institute in New York. He has excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Italian.
